The government of Bangladesh has announced that the date for the upcoming Buddha Purnima (Baishakhi Purnima) non-working public holiday had been changed from the previously-announced date of Monday, June 4, 2012, to Sunday, May 6, 2012.

The aforementioned change to the date for the upcoming Buddha Purnima non-working public holiday from Monday, June 4, 2012, to Sunday, May 6, 2012 is in line with the remark we made when the list of official Bangladesh public holidays for the calendar year 2012, was approved in Cabinet meeting, at the beginning of this year (2012-01-01).

As we remarked back then, the date stated for the Buddha Purnima (Baishakhi Purnima) public holiday in the "DFIM Circular Letter No. 20" and the "DOS Circular Letter No. 22", is a month later than one would have expected.
