Due to current contradictory announcements and direct communications, we have reviewed news items and announcements for the past few years, we now expect the upcoming Shab-e-Barat non-working public holiday to be observed, in Bangladesh, on Friday, July 6, 2012.
Following last month's announcement (2012-06-22) that the date for the upcoming Shab-e-Barat would be Thursday, July 5, 2012, our traditionally reliable sources in Bangladesh have been split, with some changing the date of the upcoming Shab-e-Barat public holiday to July 5 and some keeping it on the initially-announced date of July 6.
The date of Friday, July 6, 2012, for the 2012 Shab-e-Barat non-working public holiday had been announced in the "DFIM Circular Letter No. 20" and the "DOS Circular Letter No. 22", released at the beginning of this year (2012-01-01).
