The Deputy Governor's Office of the British Virgin Islands, after consultation with the Cabinet of the British Virgin Islands, has proclaimed Monday, June 4, 2012, as a non-working public holiday throughout the Territory of the British Virgin Islands to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and to celebrate the 86th anniversary of the birth of Her Majesty the Queen.

The aforementioned announcement, thus amends the official public holidays for 2012 in the British Virgin Islands as announced last fall (2011-09-23) by proclaiming "Monday, June 4, 2012 as a public holiday throughout the Territory" while at the same time specifying that "Pursuant to Section 5(b) of the Public Holidays Act, June 9, 2012 which is the day appointed as a public holiday in observance of the Sovereign's birthday shall not be observed as a public holiday".
