The Cabinet of Lesotho has approved a measure that will make May 26, 2012, the date of the upcoming general elections, a non-working public holiday in Lesotho.
A few years ago (2008-12-23), Lesotho's Deputy Director of Elections, Mphasa Mokhochane, had announced that as part of the current review of the National Assembly Electoral Law 2006, one of the sections to be included in the amendment was a provision that election days be declared national public holidays.
