The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring Thursday, April 26, 2012, as a non-working public holiday to coincide with the date of the upcoming verdict in the trial of former Liberian president Charles Taylor.

The declaration of one-off non-working public holidays in Liberia is relatively common, although they are usually due to electoral events (2012-01-13, 2011-08-09, 2011-01-28, 2009-11-23 and 2009-11-09).
