Liberian Public Holiday July 26

The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring Thursday, July 26, 2012, as a national non-working public holiday to be observed across the country on account of Liberia's Independence Day.

As per custom on these last-minute re-confirmations of annual public holidays (2012-03-12, 2012-02-07, 2011-11-26, 2011-11-01, 2011-04-06, 2010-11-03, 2010-07-23 and 2010-04-08), the Foreign Ministry release states that "the Proclamation orders all Government Offices, Public and Business Houses be closed in observance of the day".
