The Minister of Interior of the Federal Government of Nigeria, Abba Moro, has announced that the Nigerian Government had declared Tuesday, May 1st, and Tuesday, May 29, 2012, as non-working public holidays.

The aforementioned declaration of Tuesday, May 1st, and Tuesday, May 29, 2012, as non-working public holidays, correspond to the upcoming annual public holidays for Workers' Day and Democracy Day, respectively.

This year, however, no day in lieu or bridge public holiday has yet been announced as it had been last year in some Nigerian states (2011-05-24).
