The Pakistani Minister of the Interior, Rehaman Malik, has announced that Saturday and Sunday, November 24 and 25, 2012, would be the revised dates of the upcoming non-working public holiday for the Ashura.
The aforementioned announcement revises by 2 days the dates of the 2012 non-working public holiday for the Ashura, as announced at the beginning of this year (2012-01-15).
Note that, earlier this week (2012-11-21), the governments of the Pakistani Provinces of Sindh and of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw announced that they would observe a 3-day public holidays from Friday to Sunday, November 23 to 25, 2012, on account of the upcoming Ashura.
In related news, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) subsequently announced that Saturday and Sunday, November 24 and 25, 2012, would be the revised dates of the upcoming non-working bank holiday for the Ashura.
