Palau President Johnson Toribiong has issued an Executive Order declaring Tuesday, November 6, 2012, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Palau on account of the upcoming national elections.

As per the aforementioned Executive Order, the Tuesday, November 6, 2012, one-off non-working public holiday in Palau is to be called "National Day of Democracy".

A similar electoral public holiday had been declared 4 years ago (03-Nov-2008), when then President Tommy Remengesau had issued a proclamation making Tuesday, November 4, 2008, a one-off nationwide public holiday in Palau.
