The Samoan Ministry of Commerce, Industry And Labour has released a decree ("Declaration of a Public Holiday for the 50th Independence Day Celebrations") which declares 2 and a half extra days of public holidays in Samoa for the upcoming 50th Independence Day celebrations.
As per the aforementioned decree, signed by the Head of State, Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi, the afternoon of Saturday, June 2, 2012, from 1pm, and all day Monday and Tuesday, June 4 and 5, 2012, have been declared one-of non-working public holidays in Samoa.
These are in addition to the annual Independence Day public holiday which will be observed normally on Friday, June 1, 2012.
