The government of Afghanistan has declared a six day period of public holidays from Tuesday to Sunday, November 19-24, 2013, on account of the upcoming Loya Jirga tribal conference.

Almost exactly 2 years ago (16-Nov-2011), Afghanistan's President, Hamid Karzai, had declared Thursday and Saturday, November 17 and 19, 2011, as one-off public holidays on account of the upcoming 4-day Loya Jirga being conducted in Kabul.

The year before (01-Jun-2010), President Karzai, had similarly declared Wednesday and Thursday, June 2 and 3, 2010, as one-off public holidays on account of the peace Jirga being conducted on those 2 days.
