Bahrain 2013 Eid Al Adha Public Holidays Announced

Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has issued a circular declaring Monday to Thursday, October 14 to 17, 2013, as the annual non-working public sector holidays in Bahrain to mark the upcoming Eid Al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) public sector holidays for the Islamic year 1434.

Contrary to what happened in past years (2012-10-23 and 2012-08-15), the aforementioned dates for Eid Al-Adha in Bahrain do not straddle the Bahrain weekend of Fridays and Saturdays (2006-08-02), and therefore the circular specifies that no additional, day in lieu, public sector holidays will be observed.

In fact, though employers are free to be more generous than the circular specifies, the Bahrain private sector will not get Arafat Day on Monday, October 14, 2013, as a non-working public holiday as part of the upcoming Eid Al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) public holidays for the Islamic year 1434.
