The Information Department of Brunei Darussalam's Prime Minister's Office has released a list of official bank holidays and public holidays in Brunei Darussalam during the calendar year 2014 in the Surat Keliling Jabatan Perdana Menteri Bil 7/2013 Negara Brunei Darussalam Hari-Hari Kelepasan Awam 2014.
As usual (2012-09-25), the aforementioned list of official bank holidays and public holidays in Brunei Darussalam during the calendar year 2014, signed by the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, Haji Mohd Abdoh Bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Salam, leaves the dates of the various Muslim public holidays (Prophet Muhammad's Birthday, 1st Day of Ramadhan, Nuzul Al-Quraan, Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, Hari Raya Aidil Adha, and 1st Day of Muharram) as "Subject to changes".
In particular, as the annual public holiday for the birthday of the Sultan of Brunei falls during the month of Ramadan in 2014, as it did in 2013, we can expect that once again a special one-off non-working public holiday will be declared after the month of Ramadan, as was done last year (2013-07-08).
