The President of Cameroon, Paul Biya, has declared Monday, September 30, 2013, as a one-off non-working public holiday ("feriée chômée sur toute l'étendue du territoire de la république du Cameroun") to facilitate the voting of candidates for the council and parliamentary elections.
The aforementioned decree is based on the "loi N°76/08 juillet 1976 modifiant et complétant certaines dispositions de la loi N°73/ 07 décembre 1973 fixant le régime des fêtes légales de le république du Cameroun".
