Philippines 2027 Public Holidays Announced
Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines (Manila)
Philippines' President, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., has issued Proclamation No.1427, signed by Malacañang Executive Secretary, Ralph Recto, which lists the annual special and regular non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the upcoming calendar year 2027.
As usual, the aforementioned proclamation kicks the can down the road as regards Muslim public holidays, "The proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha shall hereafter be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or the lunar calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient.".
And the EDSA public holiday, once again, falls victim to the decades-long feud between the Aquino and Marcos political dynasties, and is declared a working day in 2027.
