After years of negotiations between the Church and the government of the Dominican Republic, it was announced that beginning in 2014, Easter Monday would be a new annual non-working public holidays in the Dominican Republic.
As was the case in recent years (2012-11-27, 2011-11-01, 2010-11-04, 2009-10-20, 2008-11-06, 2007-11-20, 2006-12-06, and 2005-09-15), we expect the full list of non-working public holidays in the Dominican Republic for the upcoming calendar year 2014, to be announced in the autumn of 2013 by the Secretary of State for Labour.
