The government of the Ivory Coast, through its Ministère de l'Emploi, des Affaires Sociales et de la Solidarité Nationale, has announced that it had declared Thursday, January 24, 2013, as the date of the annual national non-working public holiday (jour férié et chômé sur toute l'étendue du territoire national) on account of the upcoming Maouloud (the Prophet's Birthday).

Contrary to previous announcements, the Government did not need to invoke Article 2 of the Décret n°96-205 du 07 mars 1996 (1996-05-09).
