The government of Jordan has announced, via a communiqué issued by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, that the upcoming Labour Day public holiday would once again be moved and would, this year, be observed on Thursday, May 2nd, 2013, rather than its traditional date of May 1st.
The Jordanian government often (2013-01-17, 2012-04-24 and 2006-04-25), though not systematically (2010-04-27 and 2005-04-25), moves mid-week public holidays to the nearest weekend, in particular the Labour Day non-working public holiday.
