Kyrgyzstan Extends January 2014 Public Holidays

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced that the Government of Kyrgyzstan had once again decided to declare additional non-working public holidays in January 2014 in Kyrgyzstan to link the upcoming New Year Kyrgyzstan annual public holiday with the subsequent Orthodox Christmas public holiday.

As per the aforementioned announcement, January 2, 3, and 6, 2014, have been declared as non-working public holidays, in addition to the official list of 2014 non-working public holidays of Kyrgyzstan declared recently (2013-12-22), to link the annual January 1 public holiday with the annual Orthodox Christmas public holiday.

Such extension of the early January public holidays of Kyrgyzstan to link the annual January 1 public holiday with the annual Orthodox Christmas public holiday, have been common in the past (2012-12-24, 2011-12-26, 2010-12-17, 2009-12-11, 2008-12-19, and 2007-12-27).

As usual, these additional non-working public holidays will be compensated by the same number of Saturdays being declared as regular working days.
