Mozambican President, Armando Guebuza, has announced that the upcoming and presidential elections, always the occasion for a one-off public holiday in Mozambique, will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.

The declaration of one-off non-working public holidays is a relatively common feature of Mozambique's official public holidays calendar (2012-12-21, 2011-12-05, 2011-10-16, 2010-12-29, 2010-12-23,...), in particular for elections and inaugurations (2010-01-11, 2009-10-26 and 2008-11-17).
