The government of Nepal has announced that Friday, June 7, 2013, had once again been declared as a one-off non-working public holiday on account of the upcoming Machchindranath Bhota Jatra festival.
Last year (2012-06-22), and the year before that (2011-06-26), the government of Nepal had similarly declared one-off regional public holidays on account of the Bhotojatra festival, though never so early in June.
Note that, after a brief interval in 2000-2001 when a 2-day weekend was tried (2001-01-13), Nepal observes a 1-day weekend on Saturdays, meaning that Sunday is normally a regular working day.
