Nigeria's Federal Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, has announced that Thursday, January 24, 2013, had been declared an official non-working public holiday throughout Nigeria to commemorate the Muslim celebration of Eid-El-Maulud (Prophet Muhammad's Birthday).

Contrary to what happened last year (2012-02-02), an additional one-off day in lieu public holiday did not need to be declared as the upcoming public holiday for the Id-el-Maoulud (Prophet's Birthday) does not fall on a weekend in 2013.
