(Posted on Wednesday, March 6, 2013)

Source: The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA)

The North Korean state-run KCNA news agency has announced that Friday, March 8, 2013, had been declared a non-working public holiday in North Korea to mark International Women's Day and the fact that "North Korean women are the happiest in the world".

It is not clear yet if this is a one-off non-working public holiday, or a new annual non-working public holiday in North Korea.
