The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared the 3-day period of Thursday to Saturday, August 8-10, 2013, as bank holidays throughout Pakistan on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan).

As per custom, under similar circumstances (2013-07-10, 2013-06-28, 2013-04-29, 2013-02-02, 2013-01-23, 2012-12-31, 2012-11-06, 2012-07-18 and 2012-06-25), the aforementioned announcement states that all banks/DFIs/MFBs will remain closed for public dealing on that date.

Today's announcement follows last week's announcement (2013-07-31) by the Federal Government of Pakistan that the upcoming 2013 Eid-ul-Fitr public holidays in Pakistan would run from Thursday, August 8, to Saturday, August 10, 2013, a day later than what was announced in the "expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2013" published by the Government of Pakistan at the beginning of the current year (2013-02-04).
