The Government of Peru has confirmed that, as per the terms of the "Decreto Supremo Nº 123-212 -PCM" issued last January, and despite subsequent amendments to this decree, Monday, October 7, 2013, would be a non-working public sector holiday ("declaró el 7 de octubre como día no laborable").
At the beginning of this year (2013-01-01), the Government of Peru released its annual list of public sector holidays in Peru for the calendar year 2013 in the (Decreto Supremo No. 123-2012-PCM), which declared 9 additional public sector holidays in Peru for the calendar year 2013, as it had done every year in the recent past (2013-01-01, 2011-12-29, 2011-03-06, 2010-02-17, 2008-12-15, and 2008-02-08).
Then, this past June (2013-06-03), the Government of Peru issued an executive order (Decreto Supremo N° 062-2013-PCM) which amends the previously-announced list of public sector holidays in Peru for the calendar year 2013, by removing Thursday, August 29, 2013, from the list of 2013 public sector holidays in Peru ("Modifican art.1° del D.S. N° 123-2012- PCM, excluyéndose el 29 de agosto de los días declarados no laborables para trabajadores del sector público durante el año 2013").
