The Qatari Crescent Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced that Thursday, August 8, 2013, would be the first day of the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr (End of Ramadan), a date on which are based the related non-working public holidays in Qatar.
Last week (2013-08-02), Qatar's Emiri Diwan had announced that the period of public sector holidays for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramadan), had been extended to 13 consecutive days of public sector holidays, meaning that the public sector holidays, for ministries, other government departments, authorities and public institutions, for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramadan), would be 13 consecutive days, from Tuesday, August 6, until Saturday, August 17, 2013, inclusively.
Last year, Qatar's Emiri Diwan had announced 11 consecutive days for the 2012 End of Ramadan public holidays (2012-08-04) and later extended it to 12 day (2012-08-14).
