Seychelles 2013 Public Holidays Announced

The government of the Seychelles has announced the official list of non-working public holidays in the Seychelles for the calendar year 2013.

Contrary to what happened last year (2012-01-11), but similarly to what was announced the 2 previous years (2011-01-19 and 2010-01-26), the aforementioned announcement incorrectly omits Easter Saturday as a public holiday in the Seychelles, despite the express stipulations of the current Seychelles public holidays legislation (the Public Holidays Act 1976, an Act to make provision for public holidays; and to provide for matters incidental thereto or connected therewith).

The announced list of 2013 public holidays in the Seychelles lists does not list International Women's Day, on March 8, as a public holiday, as it was voted in the Parliament of the Seychelles, 3 years ago (2010-04-15), but only as a one-off public holiday to coincide with the 100th International Women's Day (2011-02-26).
