Following-up on earlier announcements by Kelantan and Kedah, the Chief Minister of Malaysia's State of Terengganu, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, has finally announced that May 5, 2013, had been declared as a one-off state public holiday, in the State of Terengganu, as had recently been suggested, for the upcoming general elections.
Earlier this month (2013-04-10), the caretaker Chief Minister of Malaysia's State of Penang, Lim Guan Eng, had called on the Malaysian states in which Sunday is not a weekly non-working day (Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu), to declare Sunday, May 5, 2013, as a one-off non-working public holiday on account of the upcoming general elections.
The week after (2013-04-17), the Chief Minister of Malaysia's State of Terengganu, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, has announced that a one-off public holiday, on May 5, 2013, was expected to soon be declared for the State of Terengganu.
Then, earlier this week, the Chief Ministers of Malaysia's State of Kedah (2013-04-24) and Kelantan (2013-04-18), had also declared a one-off state public holiday, on May 5, 2013.
