Tonga's Ministry of Information and Communications has issued a communiqué, "in view of the number of enquiries received from the public", clarifying that the date of the upcoming annual non-working public holiday in Tonga to mark King Tupou I Day, is Monday, December 2, 2013.

The aforementioned clarification is in line with Tonga's Ministry of Information and Communications communiqué announcing the official list of non-working public holidays in Tonga for the calendar year 2013, earlier this year (04-Jan-2013), and with the terms of the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2010" (Act No. 10 of 2010) which amended the public holidays legislation of Tonga with respect to the observance date of some mid-week public holidays (19-May-2010 and 08-Apr-2010).
