As on past occasions (20-Dec-2012 and 20-Dec-2011), the aforementioned announcement, is based on and refers to, the "Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act (Chapter10:21)", whereby the President has the power to declare special one-off public holidays under Section 2 (2) of the said "Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act".
