The Central Bank of Bahrain has announced that it would declare bank holidays on Thursday and Saturday, January 1 and 3, 2015, on account of the annual non-working public holidays in Bahrain to mark Western New Year and the Prophet's Birthday.
In addition, as is common in Bahrain (01-Feb-2012), and as the aforementioned date for the Prophet's Birthday coincides with the Fridays and Saturdays weekly days of rest in Bahrain (02-Aug-2006), the aforementioned circular states that the CBB "will resume operations on Monday, 5th January, 2015 (Sunday will be a holiday in lieu of Saturday)".
