Bangladesh's National Moon Sighting Committee has announced that it had sighted the New Moon crescent tonight and, therefore, that the upcoming Ashura, and related public holiday, would be observed across the country on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, which corresponds to the previously-announced date for Ashura, and related public holiday in Bangladesh.
The aforementioned announcement is in line with the date announced in the DFIM Circular Letter No. 10 : Regarding Holidays of 2014 (2013-11-15) of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh which announced the official list of non-working public holidays in Bangladesh for the calendar year 2014, last fall.
