Costa Rican April 2014 Public Holidays

Costa Rica's Minister of Labour has announced the dates of the non-working public holidays in Costa Rica for the month of April 2014, as per the amended public holidays legislation of Costa Rica.

A decade ago (2005-03-17), legislation passed by the Abel Pacheco administration specified that 4 public holidays would move from mid-week to the following Monday (April 11, July 25, August 15, and October 12).

But the provisions of that law were slowly unraveled over the last few years, starting with the August 15 public holiday which was reset to a fixed date non-working public holiday (2007-10-05 and 2007-08-10), followed a couple of years later by the July 25 public holiday which was reset to a fixed date non-working public holiday (2009-06-26, 2008-11-29, 2009-06-19), followed a year later by the aforementioned April 11 public holiday which was reset to a fixed date non-working public holiday (2010-10-06), now leaving only 1 of the original 4 moving public holidays; October 12.
