The Fiji Governing Cabinet has finally completed its earlier list of the dates of official non-working public holidays in Fiji for the upcoming calendar year 2015, by announcing and gazetting the date of the 2015 non-working public holiday in Fiji for the newly created National Sports Day Fiji public holiday.

As per the aforementioned announcement, the 2015 date of the newly created National Sports Day Fiji public holiday will be Friday, June 26, 2015.

A couple of months ago (2014-05-20), Fiji's Governing Cabinet approved its annual list of the dates of official non-working public holidays in Fiji for the upcoming calendar year 2015, following a submission by Fiji's Minister for Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment, once again leaving out the public holidays previously observed for the Queen's Birthday (2002-01-06), National Youth Day and Ratu Sukuna Day public holidays (2010-03-21 and 2010-05-24), and Prince Charles' Birthday (2003-06-11).

In the original announcement of list of the dates of official non-working public holidays in Fiji for the upcoming calendar year 2015, it was mentioned that, in addition to the list of official 2015 non-working public holidays in Fiji for the calendar year 2015, announced on that day, "Cabinet has also approved a National Sports Day public holiday. The date of this public holiday shall be finalized by the Minister for Labour, Industrial Relations and employment, and the Minister for Youth and Sports.").
