Jordanian Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour, has issued a circular decreeing a public holiday in Jordan on Saturday, October 25, 2014, to commemorate the upcoming annual Jordanian non-working public holiday for the Hijri New Year 1436.
The Jordanian government often (2013-10-31, 2013-04-19, 2013-01-17, 2012-04-24 and 2006-04-25) moves mid-week public holidays to the nearest weekend, in particular the Labour Day non-working public holiday and the Hijri New Year public holiday, but this was not done in 2014, as the annual Jordanian non-working public holiday for the Hijri New Year 1436 occurs on a weekend.
