Kazakhstan's Prime Minister, Karim Massimov, has signed another "Decree Of The Government For Favorable Conditions Of Working Population And Efficient Use Of Working Time" which declares 2 additional one-off non-working bridge public holidays in Kazakhstan, to link the upcoming annual Unity Day, Homeland Defender Day, and Victory Day, Kazakhstan public holidays with one another and the nearby weekends.
As per the aforementioned decree, the Friday, May 2, 2014, one-off non-working public holiday will be compensated by Sunday, May 4, 2014, being declared a regular working day in Kazakhstan, while the Thursday, May 8, 2014, one-off non-working public holiday will be compensated by Sunday, May 11, 2014, being declared a regular working day in Kazakhstan.
These 2 additional non-working public holidays declared today in Kazakhstan are in addition to the official list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2014, which was released by the government of Kazakhstan, earlier this year (2013-12-26). At that time, as we had the previous year (2013-02-18), we had speculated that the Government of Kazakhstan might declare a one-off bridge public holiday to link the long-standing May 9 annual public holiday of Kazakhstan (2001-12-14), with the more recently-declared, May 7, Homeland Defender Day, annual non-working public holiday in Kazakhstan (2012-10-19, 2012-10-04, 2012-09-20, 2012-05-04).
