The Kuwaiti Council of Ministers has extended the duration of the KCSC-proposed upcoming Eid Al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) non-working public holidays in Kuwait from 5 to 9 days, to run from Friday, October 3, until Saturday, October 11, 2014, inclusively.
Last week (2014-09-20), we had reported that the Kuwaiti Civil Service Commission had proposed to the Kuwaiti Council of Ministers that the dates of the upcoming Eid Al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) non-working public holidays in Kuwait should run, this year, for 5 days, as compared to a 9-day period of public holidays for last year's Eid Al-Adha (2013-10-08).
The Kuwaiti public service would thus benefit from only 5 consecutive days of non-working public sector holidays, as was the case 2 years ago (2012-10-15), from October 3-7, 2014.
As regards the Kuwaiti private sector, we expect that as usual, most of the Kuwaiti private sector will only get 2 days of non-working public holidays for the upcoming Eid Al-Adha; namely October 4 and 5, 2014.
Recall that, since 2007 (2007-08-04), weekends in Kuwait are Friday and Saturday.
