The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has issued a proclamation declaring Sunday, August 24, 2014, as a national non-working public holiday in Liberia to be observed across the country on account of Liberia's National Flag Day.

As per the aforementioned proclamation, the official observance will take place on Monday, August 25, 2014, since this year's National Flag Day falls on Sunday.

The National Flag Day was set aside as an annual non-working public holiday by an Act approved by the National Legislature of the Republic of Liberia, but such last-minute re-confirmation of annual public holidays are a staple of the Liberian public holidays calendar (2014-07-17, 2014-04-10, 2013-05-13, 2013-04-05, 2013-03-13, 2012-11-27, 2012-10-31, 2012-07-23, 2011-11-01, 2011-04-06, 2010-11-03, 2010-07-23 and 2010-04-08).
