Macedonian Public Holidays May 23-24

Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has announced that Saturday, May 24, 2014, would be a non-working public holiday throughout Macedonia "for all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia" on account of the upcoming "Saints Cyril and Methodius' Day" annual public holiday in Macedonia.

In a separate announcement, the Macedonian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy also announced that Friday, May 23, 2014, would be a non-working public holiday citizens belonging to the Vlach community in Macedonia on account of the upcoming "Vlach National Day" annual sectorial non-working public holiday.

The above are in line with the Macedonian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy's official list of 2014 public holidays in Macedonia, as published earlier this year (2014-01-11), and, more generally with the Law on Holidays of the Republic of Macedonia (Official Gazette, and Br.21/98 7.18) as last amended in 2007 (2007-02-08).
