(Posted on Thursday, January 30, 2014)

Source: Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social (Ciudad de México)

The Mexican Ministry of Labour (Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social) has announced that Monday, February 3, 2014, would be a nationwide non-working public holiday (informa a los trabajadores que el Artículo 74 de la Ley Federal de Trabajo establece que el primer lunes de febrero en conmemoración del 5 de Febrero es día de descanso obligatorio).

As usual (15-Mar-2013 and 14-Sep-2011), the aforementioned communique refers to Article 74 of Mexico's labour law (Ley Federal del Trabajo) as amended almost a decade ago (17-Jan-2006).
