The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security of the government of Myanmar has announced that it is drafting amendments to the "1951 Leave and Holidays Act" which regulates, among other issues, the list of official annual non-working public holidays in Myanmar.

Last week, Myanmar's Deputy Minister of Labour, Htin Aung, had announced to the Upper House of Parliament that the "1951 Leave and Holidays Act", which regulates medical leave, casual leave, annual leave, and non-working public holidays in Myanmar, would be amended to conform with the 2008 Constitution.
