The government of Nepal has announced that Thursday, April 24, 2014, had been declared as a non-working public holiday throughout the country on account of the upcoming ninth Loktantra Day.
The aforementioned announcement is in line with the recent (2014-03-02) gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year 2071 (mid-April 2014 to mid-April 2015).
Two years ago (2012-03-29), when the government of Nepal gazetted the list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year 2069 (April 2012-April 2013), the Loktantra Diwas public holiday, introduced 5 years before (2007-04-16), did not appear in the gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year 2069. However this was subsequently corrected (2012-04-21).
