The Philippines' Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary has sent a correction to the media this time ruling-out any chance that Sunday, November 2, 2014, would be, declared as an additional non-working public holiday in the Philippines.

Once again (2014-10-27), in its statement ("November 2, Sunday is not among the holidays under Aquino's September 25 Proclamation No. 655"), Malacañang referred to Proclamation No. 655, s. 2013, signed by President Benigno Aquino III, last year (2013-09-30), and which lists the special and regular non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2014.

The need for the Government of the Philippines to issue last-minute statements denying the declaration of day in lieu, or bridge, public holidays is common (2014-10-27, 2014-08-19, 2014-07-21, 2014-06-08, 2014-02-24, 2013-10-23, 2012-12-27, 2012-07-12, 2012-06-03 and 2012-03-07).
