The Government of Rwanda has released a communique reminding the population of Rwanda that Friday, April 18, 2014, will be a non-working public holiday throughout Rwanda on account of the upcoming annual Rwandan public holiday to mark Good Friday.
The aforementioned declaration of Friday, April 18, 2014, as a non-working public holiday throughout Rwanda, is in line with the earlier (2014-03-26) release of the full list of official non-working public holidays in Rwanda for the calendar year 2014 by the Rwandan government, as well as the "Arrêté Presidentiel N°06/01 Du 16/02/2011 Determinant Les Jours Feries Officiels" which, 3 years ago, overhauled the list of Rwandan non-working public holidays (2011-03-07).
In the same statement, Rwanda's Minister of Public Service and Labour, Anastase Murekezi, pointed out that Easter Monday, on April 21, 2014, was not a non-working public holiday in Rwanda.
