Following tonight's surprise announcement of a change in the date of the upcoming Eid al Adha by Saudi Arabia, the Algerian public sector ministry (Direction Générale de la Fonction Publique) has announced that Thursday and Friday, September 24 and 25, 2015, had been declared as the new dates of the upcoming Aïd El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays in Algeria.
As usual (2014-10-03, 2014-07-27, 2013-11-13, 2012-11-14, 2012-08-17 and 2011-02-13), the aforementioned announcement that Thursday and Friday, September 24 and 25, 2015, had been declared as the dates of the upcoming Aïd El Adha, follows an earlier communiqué by the Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments (Ministère des Affaires religieuses et du Wakf).
Six years ago (2009-07-24), the Algerian government changed its weekends from Thursday/Friday to the "mixed" or "semi-universal" Friday/Saturday weekend.
