Following tonight's surprise announcement of a change in the date of the upcoming Eid al Adha by Saudi Arabia, the Algerian public sector ministry (Direction Gnrale de la Fonction Publique) has announced that Thursday and Friday, September 24 and 25, 2015, had been declared as the new dates of the upcoming Ad El Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays in Algeria.

As usual (03-Oct-2014, 27-Jul-2014, 13-Nov-2013, 14-Nov-2012, 17-Aug-2012 and 13-Feb-2011), the aforementioned announcement that Thursday and Friday, September 24 and 25, 2015, had been declared as the dates of the upcoming Ad El Adha, follows an earlier communiqu by the Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments (Ministre des Affaires religieuses et du Wakf).

Six years ago (24-Jul-2009), the Algerian government changed its weekends from Thursday/Friday to the "mixed" or "semi-universal" Friday/Saturday weekend.
