Australia 2016 ACT Public Holidays Announced

The Chief Minister's Office of Australia's Capital Territory (ACT) has released its annual list of the official non-working public holidays to be observed in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Australia, during the calendar year 2016.

After 3 years of continuity (2012-04-10, 2011-03-02 and 2010-07-26) in the method of determining the date of the Family and Community Day public holiday (2007-07-30) which was modified 5 years ago (2009-10-16), the aforementioned list of the official non-working public holidays to be observed in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Australia, during the calendar year 2016 deviates from that rule.

It is not yet clear if this represents a change in the rules determining the date of the Family and Community Day public holiday, or whether the list of the official non-working public holidays to be observed in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Australia, during the calendar year 2016 will be later amended as was the list of the official non-working public holidays to be observed in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Australia, during the calendar year 2015, last year (2014-05-08).
