Early this year (2015-01-22), the SPD and CDU coalition partners of Germany's state of Berlin, had announced that they would jointly introduce a bill that would declare October 31, 2017, as a one-off public holiday (gesetzlichen Feiertag) to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther posting his ninety-five theses on the door of the Castle Church of Wittenberg, the German State of Berlin.
According to our running tally of the various regional announcements of the past 3 years, the only German Land which has not announced its intention of declaring October 31, 2017, as a one-off public holiday (gesetzlichen Feiertag) to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther posting his ninety-five theses on the door of the Castle Church of Wittenberg, is Niedersachsen.
