Ethiopian Prophet's Birthday Public Holiday December 23

The Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council (EIASC), in conjunction with the Islamic Affairs Supreme Council of Addis Ababa, have confirmed that the upcoming Mawlid (birthday of Prophet Mohammed) non-working public holiday in Ethiopia for the calendar year 2015, would be marked as a public holiday in Ethiopia on Wednesday, December 23, 2015.

The aforementioned announcement Wednesday, December 23, 2015, as the date of the Mawlid (birthday of Prophet Mohammed) non-working public holiday in Ethiopia for the calendar year 2015, represents a one-day shift as compared to the expected dates of the non-working public holidays in Ethiopia for the calendar year 2015, which were released by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the beginning of this year (2012-11-03).
