The Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan has issued the Memorandum 15/2015, Ref.10/2/5925, which announces a bank holiday on Monday, May 25, 2015, on account of the annual Independence Day non-working Jordanian public holiday and bank holiday.
The aforementioned announcement of a bank holiday on Monday, May 25, 2015, on account of the annual non-working Jordanian public holiday of Independence Day, is in addition to the released (2014-12-21), list of annual non-working bank holidays and public holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2015.
Such confirmation communiqués are a common feature of Jordanian public holidays, as some annual fixed-date public holidays are often moved to adjoin a weekend, in the years when they occur in mid-week. For example, in 2009, the observance of the very same, May 25, Independence Day public holiday, was moved from May 25 to the previous day (2009-05-19).
