The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic has released the calendar of annual public holidays which will be non-working public holidays in Kyrgyzstan and days off in the upcoming calendar year 2016.

Interestingly, as compared to the previous years' declaration of the annual public holidays in Kyrgyzstan (2015-07-14, 2013-12-22, 2013-01-04, 2012-03-14 and 2011-01-01), instead of the piecemeal declaration of one-off bridge non-working public holidays throughout the year, compensated by declaring a weekend day as a regular working day (2014-12-26, 2013-04-28, 2011-12-31, 2010-11-11, 2010-08-25, 2010-02-15, 2009-12-11, 2008-12-19 and 2007-12-27), the aforementioned announcement of the public holidays which will be non-working public holidays in Kyrgyzstan in the upcoming calendar year 2016, also contains a draft proposal "to move a series of festive dates on the weekdays" which, if approved, as we surmise it will, would specify the list of one-off bridge non-working public holidays throughout the year, compensated by declaring a weekend day as a regular working day in Kyrgyzstan for the upcoming calendar year 2016, at the beginning of the year.
